DIAMOND BAR, California — Organizers say the Chevrolet Camaro is the "outstanding leader" in the race for "hottest car" honors at the 2010 SEMA Show. The inaugural SEMA hot vehicle awards will be handed out during the show, which runs November 2-5.
"The outstanding leader in the hottest car category is the Chevy Camaro, followed by the Ford Mustang and the Dodge Challenger," said show organizers in a statement this week. Also-rans are the Audi A4, Ford Fiesta, Honda CR-Z, Hyundai Sonata, Kia Soul, Lexus IS, Mazda 2, Scion tC and Subaru Impreza.
In the lead for hottest truck is the Ford F-Series, followed by the Chevrolet Silverado. The two are beating out the Dodge Ram and Toyota Tundra.
SEMA organizers say the best 4x4 SUV category is a "tight" race, with the Jeep Grand Cherokee taking the early lead, "followed closely by the Jeep Wrangler and Ford Explorer."
SEMA show exhibitors will choose the three outstanding vehicles. In the meantime, the public can vote for its favorites to qualify to win a VIP trip for two to the 2011 SEMA Show. The voting ends on November 1. Votes can be cast on the SEMA Facebook Page or at SEMA's Web site.
